Gingival Prostheses: An Esthetic Soloution to Periodontally Compromised Patients- A Case Report

Gingival recession often compromises the esthetics of the patient especially when it occurs in the anterior
region . Often the patient exhibits open embrasures, increased crown height, and black triangles. The
reduced bone height often compromises the possibility for a predictable outcome after various root coverage
procedures. Hence these procedures may not give a satisfactory esthetic results . In addition to that surgical
root covege might cause discomfort to the patient and requires considerable healing time. Gingival veneer
masks are simple alternative approach in these patients with unsightly gums associated with severe gingival
recession especially when they are well motivated for good oral hygiene measures. This article aims to
describe a clinical case of a young patient with advanced gingival recession. The gingival prostheses is a
boon to patients who are esthetically compromised due to severe gingival recession
