Silver Diamine Fluoride: A Literature Review

Abstract

Dental caries is one of the most common oral diseases. It is always better to prevent the disease before it advances
which may results to pain, unesthetic look and difficulty in mastication and function. Silver diamine fluoride
is one of the preventive measures performed by the dentist to prevent and arrest initial dental caries. It is very
effective in all age groups especially in paediatric patients. The knowledge, the exact mechanism and its method
of use is a primary requirement of the dental professional. The present article emphasizes a detailed review on
silver diamine fluoride.
